TO RENT OR TO BUY IN PORTLAND, OREGON?
Many individuals right now are still caught in between whether or not they should rent or if they should take that big step and buy a home. After the recent recession, many people turned to renting because they were forced out of their homes unfortunately. With this huge surge in renters, this caused the rental market to climb through the roof causing the price of renting a home to be almost the same as buying your own home. Recently people are getting back on their feet and the employment rate is improving, leading people to ask whether or not they should continue renting or if they should buy a home. According to the Oregonian, 2.2 years makes the difference for homeowners to take the advantage over renting.

THE TRUTH ABOUT CORNELIUS, OREGON
I wanted to write this post regarding a little town in Oregon, called Cornelius. Cornelius is known as the "family town" and has a nice plaque at the entrance of town stating this. Cornelius is located between Hillsboro, Oregon and Forest Grove, Oregon. Hillsboro is a growing community with Intel centrally located in the heart of Hillsboro. Intel hosts over $17,000 employees and is rapidly growing, therefore making Hillsboro a destination for many Intel employees. Intel offers several different campuses in Hillsboro, but all relatively close together and all of whick are located in Hillsboro. Hillsboro also just became home to the Hillsboro Hops baseball team which is a nice addition to the community. They built a brand new stadium that brings fun for all ages in the summer time to attend nice, warm, summer evening games or Saturday afternoon games. Hillsboro is also building a few brand new schools to host these new families that are moving into the area.
I am writing this post about Cornelius, because it seems to come with some sort of "stigma" and seems to get lost in the shuffle between Hillsboro and Forest Grove.....when really, it is less than a few minutes away from either city. Hobbs Farm is a great neighborhood located in Cornelius that has several homes that are all built by a quality builder, Riverside Homes. These homes are large homes, with over 2400 square feet and over 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms in most floor plans and built after 2005. They offer a variety of floor plans to chose from and lot sizes. Hobbs Farm has an excellent HOA that keeps the neighborhood clean and organized as well as lining the main street with spring flowers. The HOA is also implementing
a great new play structure at the park located in the Hobbs Farm neighborhood that will be used strictly for the Hobbs Farm homeowners children to safely play. This will be a great addition to this wonderful community! The HOA also puts on an annual bbq for the homeowners that brings the neighbors and community together for everyone to enjoy and mingle. The neighborhood is full of Washington County Police Officers, which makes the neighborhood very safe.
Hobbs Farm is also within walking distance to the elementary school and movie theatre as well as Fred Meyer and Walgreens. There are nice trails to walk or ride bikes on as well as a scenic route of horses, cows, and farm country out to the freeway to give the feel of living in the country but really only being less than 10 minutes to the freeway and high-tech!
Whether you have children or whether you are just looking for a very nice home in a safe, quiet community, Hobbs Farm is a great destination for you to own a home.
I currently have 3 homes in the Hobbs Farm neighborhood that are for sale for various reasons and need buyers for and have attached them below! Please take an opportunity to check out these homes and this great area! You will not be disappointed!
